Alumna Inspires Long Beach Students to Make Healthy Food Choices

As part of Long Beach High School’s “Fall into Fitness” initiative through The Well, LBHS alumna Issy Alley, a Cornell University student studying Global and Public Health, recently visited with students to explore the importance of whole foods, eating locally and seasonally, and the impact our food choices have on overall health and wellness. Issy also shared her work with Real Kids, Real Food, where she teaches elementary students about nutrition and wellness through weekly virtual lessons.
The Well is Long Beach High School’s dedicated Student Wellness Center providing students a calming, inclusive space where students can pause, reset, and build tools to support their mental, physical, emotional, and social well-being. Through mindfulness, movement, and wellness education, The Well fosters a culture of balance and resilience. It is a place where every student feels grounded, empowered, and confident to lead with compassion, both in and beyond the classroom.
