Long Beach High School Students Come Together for “Together Tuesday”

Long Beach High School’s Youth Wellness Council and National Art Honor Society hosted the school’s first-ever “Together Tuesday” on Sept. 29 in recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. The initiative centered on the power of connection and creativity, encouraging students to support one another and promote messages of hope and kindness.
As part of the event, members of the National Art Honor Society hosted “A Stitch in Time,” where students created handmade fabric hearts featuring messages of hope and encouragement. In the high school’s wellness center, known as “The Well,” students also participated in “Make a Card, Make a Day,” creating thoughtful cards to accompany the handmade hearts.
The hearts and cards will be donated to another school community hosting a fundraiser benefiting children and families affected by mental health and intellectual developmental challenges.
Through these creative acts of kindness, Long Beach High School students demonstrated how small gestures of compassion can help build connection, strengthen community and remind others that they are not alone.
