  • Key Idea: Citizens develop rules and laws to govern and protect themselves.
  • Vocabulary: citizen, citizenship, consequence, constitution, justice, liberty, nation, represent, republic, symbol

Theme 7: Civil Ideals and Practices
  • Key Ideas: Good citizens know and respect the symbols of their community and country. It is important to respect ones self, others and the property of others.
  • Vocabulary: allegiance, bully, indivisible, please, respect, responsibility, rights, rules

  • Identify rules and laws of the school and classroom.
  • Identify symbols of the USA, Long Beach and school and explain what they symbolize.

  • Identify the rules of the classroom and school.
  • Identify the consequences of breaking rules.
  • Participate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • Identify and correct bullying behaviors.
  • Work well with others.
