The Long Beach Adult Learning Center empowers adults to reach their highest potential as learners, parents, consumers and citizens through education and technology.

Registration and Testing Fee of $50.00 due upon registration.
OFFERINGS
ENGLISH FOR SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES - Conversation, reading and writing skills are developed for foreign born adults from around the world.
ADULT BASIC EDUCATION-Improve reading, writing and math skills with emphasis placed upon real life situations.
PREPARATION FOR THE GENERAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT TEST (GED® Test) - The GED® Test is a series of four subject tests a person can take to demonstrate their high school academic knowledge and is the primary pathway to a New York State High School Equivalency Diploma effective January 2022.
NATIONAL EXTERNAL DIPLOMA PROGRAM - Earn a High School Equivalency Diploma through this unique program which has opened new doors for so many. This nationally acclaimed program for mature adults, 18 years of age and older, offers flexible scheduling, commands mastery of skills and is conducted through one to one appointments. GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING SERVICES - The center offers comprehensive guidance and counseling services designed to provide individuals with educational, vocational and personal counseling.
WORKPLACE SKILL DEVELOPMENT - The center provides jobseekers with the following services:

● Resume Writing, Interviewing Techniques, Job Placement Services
● Vocational Training Programs for Careers in High-Demand Industries
● Referrals for Out-of-School Youth Training Programs
● Career and Computer Skills Workshops
● Online Job Banks
LONG BEACH LITERACY ZONE AND FAMILY WELCOME CENTER-The center provides assessment, case management and support services. Services and offerings include ESOL classes, GED preparation, Adult Basic Education, academic counseling, family literacy, social services referrals and case management. The welcome center hub assesses the needs, goals and barriers to education for participants and supports families along a pathway out of poverty.
