Blackheath Pre-k is Moving!

Dear Parents/Guardians

We are moving!  While Lindell School has opened their hearts and home to our Blackheath families, we are happy to announce our relocation to classrooms in East School.  In addition, we will resume our PM Session from 11:30AM - 2:30PM, AM Session will continue on the current times of 8:15AM – 11:15AM.  Most Pre-K classes will utilize shared space.
 
This change will begin Monday, January 14, 2013.  Transportation schedules will be posted on the web at lbeach.org.

Dear Parents/Guardian,

Welcome to the Blackheath Pre-Kindergarten Program, an early childhood educational program offered by the Long Beach Public Schools. I am very pleased that you have elected to enroll your child in this exceptionally fine program. The school now becomes a partner with you in the education of your child.

The Pre-kindergarten Program provides a nurturing, creative and academic environment for learning. The children's daily activities are crafted to enable and promote each child to develop socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. In an atmosphere designed to promote self-esteem and ensure success, the children are provided with opportunities to engage in positive social interactions.

An emphasis of learning is seen throughout the day. Units of study are thematic and developmental. Each month includes a unit of study with specific content and skill objectives. The children are encouraged and supported to make sound choices, acquire information and vocabulary, explore activities and make predictions in a playful manner.

Our excellent teaching staff, assisted by well-trained teaching assistants, looks forward to working with your child to prepare him/her with the fundamental tools and experiences essential to succeed in school. Our staff members are committed to providing a positive, caring and nurturing atmosphere in the pursuit of educational excellence. Commitment to excellence is accomplished when families and schools work together.
