Long Beach Middle School Music educator Dave Lobenstein was recently selected by the New York State Music School Music Association (NYSSMA) Executive Committee to be the 2024-25 All-State Instrumental Jazz Assistant Chair and continuing as All-State Instrumental Jazz Chair for 2026-27.

This volunteer position requires that Mr. Lobenstein assist in NYSSMA All-State judging, coordination of the ensemble rehearsals and performance, student selection, and guest conductor selection for the All-State conference.

Mr. Lobenstein said, “I am very grateful for this appointment, and am extremely excited to assist NYSSMA at the state level.”
